City Plans To House Other Jurisdictions’ Detainees

HENDERSON, Nev. — After a year of construction, the city of Henderson revealed its expansion of the city jail Wednesday.
“We’ve recognized this need for over four years and have been working with the city to secure funding and get this project moving,” Henderson Police Chief Jutta Chambers said.
The $29 million expansion nearly doubled capacity, adding 250 beds to the 293 already in use. Renovations also included more space in employee areas and a central control room.
